What a year it has been for 20-year-old Kellie Dawn Pickler; this small town girl from Albemarie, North Carolina, who before appearing on the Fox Television series American Idol, had never set foot on an airplane.

Since finishing in sixth place in Idol's fifth season, Pickler went on and signed a recording contract with the major record company BNA Records, a country label owned by RCA Records and Sony BMG Music Entertainment. Her debut single, "Red High Heels" was released on September 25, 2006 and her debut album followed on October 31 of the same year.

20th Century Fox and 19 Television are currently developing a half-hour situational comedy starring Pickler as a naïve small-town Southern woman who discovers her biological father is the state's governor.

On February 10, 2007 in Metairie, Louisiana at the inaugural celebration of Jefferson Parish's "Family Gras"; celebrating 50 years of Mardi Gras in Jefferson Parish, Kellie performed for the first time on a live stage before an estimated 20,000 people. She proved herself owning the crowd with her down-home charm and appeal that has captured the hearts of music lovers across America.

After the music ended, Jefferson Parish declared February 10, 2007 Kellie Dawn Pickler day and she was overwhelmed. After hugs with local talent Cajun Artist Amanda Shaw, Kellie boarded her "Red Tour Bus" and minutes later it blended into the crowded streets of Mardi Gras.

Kellie will be returning to Nashville where she will be preparing for a tour beginning in April with Country Music Artist Brad Paisley and the "Brad Paisley Band."
